HOT-STOP ‘L’ is the tested and proven FIREPROOF solution to eliminate the threat of a lithium battery fire on board your aircraft. As tHOT-STOP® ’L’ Fire Containment Kits safely contain fire, explosions, and toxic smoke emissions from Lithium-Ion powered devices without the need of water or other aqueous liquids; however, these products allow the use of water if operators choose to comply with SAFO FAA recommendations.
TESTED & PROVEN
HOT-STOP ‘L’ Fire Containment Kits are:
Tested and Proven by FAA-Registered Laboratory to be FIREPROOF as defined by Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR 1.1) with FAA (AC20-135) Test Procedure that included 2000°F Powerplant Fire Penetration for a full 30-minutes, twice the time required for FIREPROOF status.
Fully Burn Certified Vessel: Interior, Exterior, and Gloves (add certificates to Testing page – link)
Designed to contain a PED that reaches thermal runaway with Zero Tolerance and contain it 100% - until it has burned itself out
Tested to have Zero Tolerance – meaning they contain all toxic smoke, harmful gases, shooting molten metal, and fumes
An effective part of your Safety Management System (SMS)
Made of proprietary materials and fabrics that meet or exceed the following specifications: - U.S. Coast Guard Spec. 164.009 / U.S. Military Spec. MIL-C-270079 / U.S. Military Spec. MIL-I-24244 - NFPA Spec. 701

Made with exterior fabric that will not support combustion and meets FAR 25.853 requirements. The fabrics have excellent tensile strength and are highly resistant to abrasion. The material is rated for 1500°F continuous service with a 2080°F melting point. The inner core is rated for 2300°F continuous service with a 3200°F melting point.
FAST & EASY TO USE
Lithium battery fires can be unpredictable. Many fire suppression products require aqueous liquids to be used and the FAA Safety Alert for Operators (SAFO) 09013 recommends dousing a runaway device with water and wait for cooling, but:
Most smart phones, tablets, and some laptops today are WATERPROOF thus preventing water from reaching the cells of the battery.
Sometimes, large quantities or NO WATER is readily available at 30,000+ feet
